Green Credentials
Green tourism, responsible tourism, sustainable tourism, eco-tourism. There are many labels, but whatever you prefer to call it, the definition remains the same: low impact, environmentally-friendly tourism that cherishes, not destroys. Tourism that takes into account the needs of the environment, local residents, businesses; and visitors; now and in the future.
In both renovating our cottage and setting up the business, we aim to be sustainable and environmentally friendly. Glaic Cottage is energy efficient: walls packed with insulation; double glazing; low-energy light bulbs; appliances that are all at least A efficiency rating, and a 100% renewable electricity supplier. Where possible, we have avoided the use of plastic and used items made from recycled materials. We use environmentally friendly cleaning products as well as local or Fairtrade products. One tree is planted for every stay at Glaic through a partnership with “Just One Tree.”
